Had an early wake this morning: did’nt need to put any alarm, as local guesthouses are always quite noisy in the morning.
Will the ferry get me to the other side safe and sound..?
Just let my baby get some fresh air after all this tropical heat !
Dreaming of faraway lands or just trying to wake up..?
I just love it when the sky gets so dark and close to the sea…!
Some brave passengers stand sitting down despite the heavy rain coming in from the side!
And some others stand up and can’t wait to get to the other side.
While we waith for a very heavy and sudden downpour, my guitar gently…chats with some local people !
Maybe i better find another seat…!
I like these old school Malay buses: their colours and textures take me back to India..!
As a jamaican music lover and reggae inspired musician, i think this minivan has the right plate number…!
I better prepare myself to India, so i decide to sit on the last row of seat in every bus i take. Sitting just on top of the wheels, and with little suspension, reproduces the feeling of old school Indian local bus journeys.
And the good things of the rainy season is that my guitar gets to travel on business class as the mini van is half empty…!
We stop for some fuel near the Thai border and the rain is chasing us…!
Goobye Malaysia!!! Entering Thailand overland is always great…i just love customs and border towns..!
Last time i was at this border point, there was so much more people and it was way hotter…Today it’s been quite a painless process !
Once i’ve got to Hat Yai train station i managed to get a ticket to Bangkok for only 900 THB…Train will leave at 6PM !
Left my guitar to the Luggage deposit so that i could go for a walk in the city, looking for some food and a chilled beer !
Stopped for a meal and a drink at a place called Post Laser Disc, apparently the place to be for some Live music in town. The set up is impressive, the food tastes great and after Malaysia, beer looks so cheap…! Cheers Thailand…Bangkok, see you tomorrow morning !
